shopGold SEO – Settings, URLs and Migrations

shopGold is a Polish platform I've been running projects on for many years. From experience: a playbook copied 1:1 from Shoper won't work here — templates, URL logic and marketing modules play by their own rules. Successful shopGold SEO means using its strengths and consciously working around what the admin panel doesn't cover by default.

Marketing and SEO features as described by shopGold

The vendor's help center documents built-in SEO features, friendly URLs, product feeds for price comparison engines and a dedicated positioning guide. That's a good starting point — but real SEO work begins when you override the defaults.

  • Friendly URLs for products, categories and information pages.
  • Meta tag configuration at store and per-page level.
  • Product feed generation for comparison engines (Ceneo, Google Shopping) and sitemap.xml.
  • Built-in marketing modules (coupons, loyalty programs, newsletter) supporting retention.

Different template and URL logic than Shoper

shopGold has its own template structure and URLs. You can't copy a Shoper setup one-to-one — it needs its own analysis of URL paths, canonical generation and how pagination and filters behave.

  • Manual control of canonicals and hreflang where the panel doesn't cover every case.
  • Product card and category copy optimisation for transactional traffic.
  • Internal linking and breadcrumbs aligned with real purchase intent.

Migrations and store growth

Migrations between e-commerce platforms are a common scenario — business growth, changing tech needs or expanding sales channels often force the switch. shopGold has plenty to offer though, and with the right SEO strategy can compete with newer solutions. When migration is unavoidable, SEO owns 1:1 URL mapping, preserving historical visibility and controlling the index during transition.

My approach

What I bring to the project

  • shopGold audit accounting for template and panel specifics, not just generic checklists.
  • Plan for moving to a modern platform without losing visibility — or strengthening the current one.
  • Closing out manual meta, canonical and sitemap settings where the panel ends.
  • Working with comparison engines and product feeds aligned with indexation policy.
