Shoper SEO – Settings, RWD and Storefront

Shoper is the most popular SaaS platform for Polish e-commerce. I've been working on it for years — and I know that Google results aren't decided in the admin panel, but by deliberately leveraging the engine's strengths and working around its limits. Effective Shoper SEO starts with business decisions about assortment and the buying path, and ends with work on the Storefront template and price comparison feeds. Along the way I've met hundreds of developers and freelancers who complement my digital-ads expertise with graphic and programming know-how.

Built-in SEO settings in the panel

Shoper lets you configure meta tags (title, description), friendly URLs and page titles inside the Positioning section. Global settings are overridden at category and product-card level so you can precisely steer the visibility of the most important pages.

  • Global title / description / keywords (Configuration > Marketing > Positioning).
  • Per-product and per-category meta — overrides global settings.
  • Friendly URLs generated automatically with manual editing available.
  • XML sitemap and robots.txt supported natively.

RWD vs Storefront — two different frontends

The older RWD store and the new Storefront are two different frontends with different rendering, templates and performance characteristics. SEO work on Storefront requires architectural knowledge — from template editing to handling dynamic components.

  • Storefront — newer architecture, more flexibility and better performance.
  • RWD — proven templates but limited control over page elements.
  • RWD → Storefront migration needs a redirect plan, content audit and index control.

Categories, parameters, facets and variants

On Shoper organic traffic grows when catalog architecture matches purchase intent. That means deliberate decisions about which parameter and facet combinations are indexed and which are blocked to protect crawl budget.

  • Facet and filter indexation policy — what stays canonical, what goes noindex.
  • Category and subcategory copy targeting concrete commercial queries.
  • Variant and related-product configuration without duplicate content.

Integrations, apps and wholesalers

The Shoper App Store, wholesale integrations and price comparison feeds can quickly generate thousands of low-quality pages. SEO here is about keeping import rules, canonicals and indexation under control.

My approach

What I bring to the project

  • Shoper technical audit focused on real sales potential, not a list of errors.
  • Storefront work plan with performance and template constraints in mind.
  • Facet and parameter indexation strategy matched to assortment and seasonality.
  • Mapping category and product content to purchase intent, not just keywords.
